What are some of the reasons and or applications for the DeWalt DCN890P2 tool? Check out a few scenarios.
Hot Work.
My first interest in the DCN890P2 battery operated concrete nailer was from a customer doing structured cabling in a hospital. As powder actuated tools use a charge and could create an ignition source, the customer was required to keep the ceiling tile open for 1/2 hour after making a fastening. This tools was a no brainer.
Simplicity.
Powder actuated tools have proven to be a fast reliable way to fasten to concrete and steel. Choosing the right load level, providing required certification and training and preparing an occupied space to hear a gun shot or loud noise is an issue. Gas tools solved some of the problems but so much more complicated. Add to that the fact that a gas tool works better when it is used day after day. Limited use actually can create service issue. A battery operated concrete nailer is a very basic system that is clean quiet and easy to operate.
Perception.
I feel powder actuated tools are very safe. I have sold millions of rounds of shots and while I have had a couple of injuries, it was clear that it was operator error. Still many sites, especially occupied sites do not like powder tools. The DeWalt DCN890P2 again fits the bill.
